All tickets are £12.50 and you can pay in person by popping into Browsers at 7 East Grinstead Road, Lingfield, Surrey RH7 6EP or send a cheque payable to Christine Monty at the address above.

Thursday, March 15: Brooks Williams 8.30pm

Brooks Williams (born November 10, 1958, Statesboro, Georgia) is an American acoustic guitarist and singer/songwriter. His style combines roots, jazz, blues, classical, and folk. He has released some albums consisting of contemporary folk music, and some consisting of instrumental guitar music. He tours extensively both in the US and the UK.
Williams began releasing music on his own label, Red Guitar Blue Music, in 1989, with an EP called Red Guitar Plays Blue; this EP was pressed on CD with additional unreleased recordings from the late '80s in 1993, under the same title and label. His first two "official" albums (North, Night-time) were also self-released under Red Guitar Blue Music. The albums from 1992-1997 were recorded under contract with Green Linnet Records, except for Ring Some Changes, which was released by Signature Sounds. Williams signed to Signature Sounds and released the albums listed from 1999–2003, except for Dead Sea Cafe, a compilation of Green Linnet-era recordings released by Silent Planet Records. In 2004, Williams returned to own Red Guitar Blue Music label, and has released albums exclusively in this way to the present, apart from Guitar Player, which was released through Solid Air Records. The first two albums, plus both versions of Red Guitar Plays Blue have been out of print for many years; in 2002 Williams selected favorite tracks from the first two albums for a best-of compilation on Red Guitar Blue Music called Acoustic Beginnings 1990-91 which is now also out of print.

Thursday, April 12 James Litherland 8.30pm

James was born in Salford, England. His parents bought him a guitar when he was 8 years old and the seed was sown. He first heard blues music and joined a blues band by about 11 years old. About this time he saw many blues artists and blues tours that came to the Manchester and Oldham area and subsequently played in various local bands playing Blues, R & B, Soul and Motown music. On leaving school he worked for a couple of years, still playing in bands at night and it was then he saw the Graham Bond organisation with Dick Heckstall-Smith.
When he was 19 he answered an advert in the Melody Maker for Colosseum featuring Dick Heckstall-Smith ( as he had seen Dick and liked what he saw ), who were looking for a guitarist.

One week later he was living in London and playing professionally with Colosseum.
One year and two albums later (Those About To Die, and Valentine Suite, on which he wrote some of their most memorable songs including Elegy and Butty’s Blues ) he formed Mogul Thrash with John Whetton ( Asia, King Crimson, and Roxy Music ) Malcombe Duncan and Roger Ball (The Average White Band ). After a turntable hit album, he left to form another band, Million, who played and recorded with Long John Baldry, Leo Sayer, and Dick Heckstall-Smith. After many tours of the UK, Europe and America, he went to live in San Francisco to play in a Bay Area band. After a year he returned to form Bandit with Cliff Williams (AC/DC) Graham Broad (Roger Waters and Bill Wymans Rhythm Kings) Danny McIntosh ( Kate Bush) and Jim Diamond.

Bandit recorded one album and toured with Alexis Korner.
After Bandit split, James became a session musician (TV ads, Film, Theatre etc.), until he recorded his first solo album 4th Estate, which was originally released by Guitarist Magazine, but is now on the Confidential Records label.
Also on the Confidential Records label is his latest album, Real Men Cry, an all acoustic work.

His songs come from everywhere and are inspired by the trials and tribulations of everyday life. His music speaks from the heart.

Dave Kennedy was a founder member of the band 21 Strangers managed by the late Chas Chandler (The Animals and Jimi Hendrix fame) and signed to Charisma Records alongside Peter Gab

Thursday, June 21: Nelson King 8.30pm

Thursday, July 19: Claude Bourbon 8.30pm

Born in France in the early 60s, Claude Bourbon grew up in Switzerland, where he was classically trained for many years. This finger picking guitarist has performed and studied all over the world; he has crafted an unbelievable fusion of classical and jazz, with ethereal Eastern influences, Spanish and Latin elements with strains of Western folk.

The unique Monsieur Bourbon is a formidable performer. He may have his roots in the blues, but he is inspired by music and song from all around the world, taking these sounds and weaving them into a performance of blues, rock, jazz, songs and melodies that defy a label, all delivered with a gravely voice.

Claude’s inimitable style incorporates all five digits on each hand dancing independently but in unison, plucking, picking and strumming at such speed and precision that his fingers often seem to melt into a blur.
